5 Family-Friendly Experiences in Liverpool You Can't Miss

Home to two iconic Premier League football clubs, the Beatles origin story, the Royal docks, and some of the most incredible natural sand dunes, Liverpool and its surrounding area offers a memorable experience to visitors from all walks of life.

In this blog, we’re sharing five of our favourite things to do in Liverpool, all within close proximity to the Heeton Concept Hotel in Liverpool for ease of access.

Beatles Museum and Liverpool City Tour

As the Beatles were from Liverpool, it will come as no surprise that the museum dedicated to their music and power in the charts is one of the most popular attractions in the city – but it’s not all museums and guided tours. As part of your adventures around Liverpool, look out for the Beatles statues located on the side of the Liverpool docks, and seek out local eateries and shops that owe their names to the Beatles and their greatest hits – from family hotels to Liverpool centre cafes, restaurants, and bars.

A tour of Anfield

You’ll never walk alone – especially with both Liverpool and Everton football clubs calling the city of Liverpool home. Anfield stadium is one of the most impressive stadiums in the UK to tour, with guided audio tours available and a multitude of tour guides who are as passionate about football and the team as they are about curating a great experience.

Look out of the windows at the vast views of Liverpool outside, learn how the home team play their advantage in the changing rooms and on the pitch, and see the club’s trophies from their winning streak over the last decade.

Street art tour

This is a really interesting activity to add to your Liverpool itinerary, because while it is not an organised tour as such, there is so much street art dedicated to LFC, the Beatles, and other Liverpool history that it can be enjoyed from anywhere around the city.

The streets around Anfield in particular are rife with art dedicated to the players and the manager Jurgen Klopp – making it a great activity for football fans to enjoy.

Visit World Museum

Visit World Museum

The World Museum is the largest museum in Liverpool and is located just a stone’s throw from the popular hotels near Concert Square Liverpool. Combining a planetarium with an exhibition dedicated to natural history and archaeology, this is a great place to head with the family and can provide an excellent indoor activity on colder or wet weather days.

Step outside Liverpool city

Liverpool city is a vibrant and exciting place to visit, but we also recommend leaving the Heeton Concept Hotel for a day and exploring the surrounding areas of Formby – more specifically visiting the Formby national trust park where you can find red squirrels, and where the forest open out onto the sand dunes and the coastline beyond. This is where you will find Anthony Gormley’s Iron Men attraction on the sandy beaches, and where you can enjoy summer walks looking across the water towards Liverpool city centre.
